METHODOLOGY

We place great emphasis on our teaching approach. Over the years we have developed and refined a very effective methodology for teaching Spanish to foreigners, which caters to the needs of beginner level through advanced level students. Our teaching methods and standards are applied uniformly across all six of our locations.

Our teaching is based on a rigorous structure of 10 modules (levels), which cover all the core elements of Spanish grammar. With the aim of ensuring that each student acquires a balanced set of Spanish skills, our teaching combines written and oral grammar exercises, listening exercises and conversation.

The core of our teaching is in the form of personalised one-to-one teaching. However, group lessons of a maximum of 4 students per teacher are also offered. We strongly recommend that beginner level students start off with 2-3 weeks of individual classes to accelerate the learning process. The two forms are further described below:

Individual classes (one-on-one) are available from four to seven hours per day. We strive to provide a study environment that is conducive to learning and concentration. Therefore, our classrooms are individual rooms designed to minimize noise and other distractions.

Group classes (maximum 4 students per class) are available for 4 hours per day. We strive to create a lively atmosphere, as conversation, games, etc. are woven into the teaching. Students with group lessons may choose to have a further 2 hours of individual classes in the afternoon.

Students with prior knowledge of Spanish are asked to complete a short written test at the beginning of their course, which allows us to begin instruction at the appropriate level and to identify weaknesses.

At the end of each week your teacher will complete a record of your progress and the elements covered. The academic director will subsequently monitor the records of each student and tailor the learning process accordingly to ensure sustained progress. After completion of a course, students will receive an official diploma from the Ecuadorian Republic .

In order to keep everyone on their toes, students will usually work with a different teacher each week. If you particularly like one teacher, you are welcome to continue with the same one.

A sample daily schedule for students with 4-hour individual or group lessons is:

08:30am - 11:00am: Classes

11:00 am - 11:20 am: Break with complimentary coffee, tea, and fresh bread

11:20am-12:30 pm: Classes
