SPANISH SCHOOL RANCHERO PROGRAM


TOTALLY FLEXIBLE

Based at a 20 hectare organic farming hacienda, located in the north west of the Province of Pichincha (map of Ecuador), it is a perfect back drop for learning Spanish in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.


Students take Spanish classes in the afternoon, following a morning of optional educational volunteer work around the hacienda.

Daily activities include working with traditional Andean tools in the fields, applying modern techniques of organic agriculture in our extensive vegetable gardens, or perhaps working with the animals – an early rise to milk the cows!

 

 

More Information

This program is totally flexible, giving students independent comfortable accommodations, with or without meals (you can help yourself to the tasty delights of the vegetable plot). If you prefer you may go only to study Spanish and relax.

There are a variety of tourist possibilities with which to keep busy; pre-Incan ruins at Cochasquí, local community visits, the Biscocho ovens in Otavalo or for the more active, a march to the nearby Lagunas de Mojanda.

The program in group lessons includes:

4 hours per day in group lessons
Included: 1) Airport transfer upon arrival in Quito.
2) 20 hours of group Spanish classes with max. 4 students per class.
3) Round-trip Quito - Farm - Quito (2 hours by bus).
4) Optional participation in organic agriculture volunteer program
5) Accommodation in double rooms 6 days/5 nights per week.
6) Full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
7) Diploma or certificate of studies.
 
2) INDIVIDUAL TEACHING:
4 hours per day in individual teaching
Included: 1) Airport transfer upon arrival in Quito.
2) 20 hours of one to one Spanish course.
3) Round-trip Quito - Farm - Quito (2 hours by bus).
4) Optional participation in organic agriculture volunteer program
5) Accommodation in double rooms 6 days/5 nights per week.
6) Full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
7) Diploma or certificate of studies.

Finalmente volví a Inglaterra. Le agradezco por haber organizado mis viajes y mis estudios con mucha paciencia. Las 6 semanas en Ecuador
fueron unas de las más interesantes de mi vida.

I can whole heartedly recommend your language school Instituto Superior de Español. The concept of learning Spanish while travelling
is superb and your organizational talent in working out individual itineraries is admirable! For some spoilt visitors from rich countries
it might be hard to fit in with an Ecuadorian family, but it gives a unique opportunity to learn more about the country than the superficial impressions usually granted to tourists.

Many thanks to you, your team and the host families for the courtesy, patience and good humor which made my trip so enjoyable!

I can also recommend the very friendly and comfortable jungle lodge and rafting or kayaking excursions who's safety standards were better
than some European organizations I have encountered.

I just wanted to give some feedback about this spanish school in quito since there arent any reviews of it as far as i can see & thought itd be helpful for anyone considering it.

Eugenio, the owner of the school, was sooo helpful to me. Im a single female travelling for a month in Ecuador. He picked me up from the airport, helped me organise my galapagos trip & jungle trips (and got me discounts). I went on the one week travelling course to the sierra, have just got back- it was amazing and for me speaking LIMITED spanish! (and zero confiednce when speaking it..) was perfect to travel on local buses, eat local food etc etc.
My spanish has improved so much in one week, i learned more in one week than i did in 6 months doing evening classes in the UK. I would recommend people to do the 2 week travelling course if you have time. the school is nice in quito too (where i am now) but id recommend going on the road and seeing ecuador..

anyway, ive got to go. one more thing- do bring warm clothes and thermals! (iu took a mini hot water bottle, a godsend.) Im here in the middle of august, its supposed to be the cool & dry period. its very very cold in mountains!! also, its a lot of travelling and quite strenous so make sure youre fit and you can handle getting up early (ie some buses leave at 3am!)
