SPANISH CLASSES IN OUR TRAVELLING CLASSROOM
Our unique offer to learn Spanish in our "Travelling Classroom" program is perfect for people who have short time to visit our country and want to study Spanish at the same time. An adventure Spanish class program, especially made for people who want to learn Spanish while visiting the natural wonders of Ecuador The "Travelling Classroom" departs from the school in Quito, students travel with experienced and qualified teachers, who also act as guides on the daily excursions. Since its inception in 1998, this program has won great acceptance with our students who feel more comfortable exploring the country with a knowledgeable and trusted guide at their side whilst learning Spanish.
The travelling Spanish classes option offers itineraries of 1-2 weeks. Each day students will receive 4 hours of classes combined with hours spent enjoying a variety of activities (biking, hiking, bathing in waterfalls and hot baths, visiting markets, etc.) and travelling from place to place on public transport. Popular itineraries combine the attractions of the Sierra (Andean highlands) thermal baths Papallacta and the Oriente (Amazon rainforest).
All practical details for the travelling Spanish classes (e.g. hostel bookings, timetables, etc.) are taken care of by the teacher allowing the students to fully enjoy the sights and of course to get in the odd hour of study. The day before departure, students and teachers meet at the school in Quito to acquaint themselves and to go over the trip plans.
For the active tourist this program is a must, packed with fun, adventure and of course lots of time to practise Spanish with your teacher and guide. We have four options for you to chose from:
* Basico (1 week): for the traveller with less time this is a great way to see a part of the highlands and the lush green of the Amazon. Highlights include mountain biking (Baños), jungle treks (Misahualli) and bathing in thermal springs Papallacta.
* Basico (2 weeks): this option allows the student more time in each of the locations, allowing more opportunities to explore and enjoy the attractions of each site including some impressive caves at Jumandy in the jungle.
* Sierra (2 weeks): this is a great program for seeing the attractions of the Sierra. Highlights include trekking around Cotopaxi National Park, visiting the wondrous Laguna Quilatoa, the breathtaking train ride down the Devils Nose and the pre-Incan ruins at Ingapirca. Just a few of the exciting activity options during this 12 day program.
* Deluxe (2 weeks): Deluxe because you get to wind down and enjoy the sites at a comfortable pace, from a train ride to Alausi down into the jungle to relax on river beaches. You will have time to soak in hot springs in both Baños and Papallacta and to relax with the bird songs of the jungle (Misahualli); nice and "tranquilo".
* Superior (16 days): A combination of Sierra 2 weeks and Delux, seeing the attractions of the Sierra. Highlights include trekking around Cotopaxi National Park, visiting the wondrous Laguna Quilatoa, enjoy the sites at a comfortable pace, from a train ride to Alausi down into the jungle to relax on river beaches. You will have time to soak in hot springs in both Baños and Papallacta and to relax with the bird songs of the jungle; nice and “tranquilo”. Strenuous activity level.

"Hi there
I just wanted to give some feedback about this spanish school in quito since there arent any reviews of it as far as i can see & thought itd be helpful for anyone considering it.
Eugenio, the owner of the school, was sooo helpful to me. Im a single female travelling for a month in Ecuador. He picked me up from the airport, helped me organise my galapagos trip & jungle trips (and got me discounts). I went on the one week travelling course to the sierra, have just got back- it was amazing and for me speaking LIMITED spanish! (and zero confiednce when speaking it..) was perfect to travel on local buses, eat local food etc etc.
My spanish has improved so much in one week, i learned more in one week than i did in 6 months doing evening classes in the UK. I would recommend people to do the 2 week travelling course if you have time. the school is nice in quito too (where i am now) but id recommend going on the road and seeing ecuador..
anyway, ive got to go. one more thing- do bring warm clothes and thermals! (iu took a mini hot water bottle, a godsend.) Im here in the middle of august, its supposed to be the cool & dry period. its very very cold in mountains!! also, its a lot of travelling and quite strenous so make sure youre fit and you can handle getting up early (ie some buses leave at 3am!)
have a great trip & let me know if you have any questions, im happy to write back! Jessica Davies"
