Charles Darwin Research Center- Santa Cruz Island

Visit Lonesome George, a 90+ year-old tortoise, the last of his kind on the Islands. Learn about the archipelago itself in the interactive museum and look at what conservation projects the researchers are conducting, including the preservation of the giant tortoise in the wild.

Highlands of Santa Cruz Island

Made up of at least four biologically diverse zones, the Highlands are a nature lovers delight. On a clear day gasp at the beautiful landscape of rolling hills and extinct volcanic cones, covered with grass and lush greenery all year round. Explore tunnel caves and marvel at the diversity of fauna on the island. Occasionally it is possible to see giant tortoises in their natural habitat.

Tortuga Bay - Santa Cruz Island

Named after the sea turtles that go there to lay their eggs, Tortuga Bay is a stunning area for snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing. Here you will find a great path to explore and to bird watch. You may see several finch species amongst other such as pelicans, flamingos and marine iguanas. Enjoy a spectacular sunset from Tortuga Bay.

Tour de Bahía

Visit the Playa de los Perros and encounter blue-footed boobies, pelicans, and marine iguanas. Swim or snorkel in Las Grietas, a volcanic formation with clear fresh water. Enjoy the spectacular sight of La Lobería, home to a large colony of sea lions and possibly see giant Galapagos tortoises.
